After the FTRSOP game, we were able to play two games of whatever we wanted, one table was 1/2 NL and the other one I was really pushing for a mixed game. After talking with Gabe and compromising, we settled on a mix of 1/2 NL, 1/2 PL Omaha Hi, and $5-$20 Spread Limit Omaha Hi/Lo.

The game gets settled and we pick seats, while I wait for the dealer to get ready and to receive my chips, I place my chip protector, ID and $100 on the table for chips and head to the bathroom. The bathroom at the Flamingo by the poker room is actually quite a decent walk away and I am probably gone a good 5 minutes from the table. No matter: I expected to be able to sit in my seat. Wrong! While I was gone Nutsinho took my seat and had my ID and protector moved off to the side and after fighting for my $100 back I was pretty pissed. I don’t go on tilt for all too much but I was really wanting to play and sense I was the one setting up this game I think I should have had my seat saved for me. At least, even if he didn’t know I was sitting there he should at least get up when I come back and not do the douche bag thing and ignore me, like he did.

That pretty much put me on life-tilt for a good 45 minutes, as that is how long it took for me to finally get a seat at that game. By that time though I got a couple beers in me and I was alright, although I still think its a douche bag move. Oh well, I’m there to have fun and why I cared so much I don’t know.

I sit down and I have Gabe to my left and an unknown FTR guy to my right, I know my edge at the NL game here is little to none. I was planning on half stacking the game so I could gamble more and push more edges but once they changed the Limit Omaha hi/low game to $5-$20 Spread I had to buy in for $200. In fact, I would have changed the NL section to ANY other poker game, even one that I had never played before because I think my edge there would have been more than playing NL with these guys.

I’m not that great of a Pot Limit Omaha player either. I played it for a while a year ago but I just couldn’t get into it. I have an idea of good starting hands but everything else I am clueless. My main reason for sitting at the table is for the Spread Limit Omaha Hi/Lo game.

If you aren’t familiar with how a Spread Limit game works, that means that on any street at any time you can bet/raise anywhere from $5 to $20 the bet out there. It makes for some interesting actions and adds an interesting element into the game, being that it is still a Limit game.

My first hand that I played was A239 double suited in EP, as I isoraise an EP limp to $25, and I get like 5 callers in the Omaha Hi/Lo game (it is a good one!). I flop a pair and my low draw and so I lead like $10 into the $100 pot. It was probably a bit donkish but heck, I wanted some value out of my hand here. Three players call and I turn the nut low as well as two pair, guaranteeing me at least some money won from this pot. I lead $10 and Nutsinho raises me to $30 and Spenda just calls behind; at this point It is very easy to put on or both of them on the nut low so reraising here would be pretty spew, given I have no idea how strong my two pair for the high is.

The river checks around and Spenda does have the nut low so him and I split that half the pot (1/4 each) and the person to win the high gets the other 1/2. Apparently Nutsinho raised on nothing but a draw with the 2nd nut low and my two pair holds. Ship the 3 Quarter pot Baby! Right off the bat I’m up like $100.

After calling some spots later in the Omaha Hi/Lo game and folding every hand of each the NL and PLO game, I finish the cash game session up $20 and leave feeling pretty happy that I ended the session positive.
