Meet Mindy

We got a bunny! As a belated X-Mas gift for Marlyn I thought it would be a perfect idea for her. It’s been about 5 days now since Mindy arrived at the apartment and it took her a couple days to get used to the new digs. She was pretty shy at first but she started to warm up to us after we fed her some parsley; she didn’t let us pet her unless she was eating it at first. Her breed is a mini-Rex and its starting to have lop ears.
Sometimes I had to ‘entice’ her out of her cage because she was too afraid and by entice I mean open my bedroom door. At first I wasn’t too thrilled with her romping around the bedroom but if it got her out of the cage then I took the sacrifice. Mindy was so thrilled about the bedroom (so exotic!) that not a couple minutes after I opened the door she would find her way in there. Once outside of her cage she felt more comfortable.
I’d say every day she has gotten quite comfortable around here. I’ve been letting her roam the apartment while I play poker all day and I’ve been quite surprised with how potty trained she is. I’d say like 98% of the time she goes to the bathroom in the cage and she has yet to actually pee anywhere else either. The only bad thing is that she likes to chew on carpeting.
The picture above has her at full glory. Notice the Amaretto bottle to the right, you can use that for a size comparison. Right now, Mindy is 10 weeks old and cant weigh much more than a pound. I’ve got a couple more pictures too:

Well, I’m sure I’ll have more to say about Mindy in the future so I made her her own category.

careful about leaving her out unattended. My rabbit LOVED to chew plastic power cords. My fridge stopped working one day. Had the repair man over and he said - ‘Do you have rats in this appartment- cause something ate through the compressor wires?’ They can kill themselves quite easily eating power cables but are great indoor pets.

Thanks for commenting!
She’s chewed on 2 cords that I’ve notice so far: the paper shredder and a random lamp. I keep both unplugged for now and keep the cord out of place.
I’ve had to struggle today to keep her out from behind my entertainment center. That could become a problem…

No problem. Thanks for all your videos at Grinderschool. You have helped me a lot. One thing I forgot to mention. My rabbit was also very good about only going in the cage EXCEPT when you placed him on anything soft and fluffy. So running around apartment on floor was fine, carpet was OK too but up on couch or futon or bed -not so fine. Almost 100% of the time would think it was a big fluffy soft litter box and pee everywhere. Mine was a Dutch male so perhaps you will be OK.
