4 days of poker? What a streak.
Well its my fourth day in a row that I’ve played poker and I’m feeling real comfortable, especially since I’m getting in a groove again. I got in 600 hands or so and it was pretty high variance.
I felt like I was playing well for the most part but I felt like I spewed in some spots too. I think had I played optimally I wouldn’t have lost the buy in though and it did come down to a bit of poor play.
Hand 1: Reads are in the thread. I was thinking of the combination of hands on the river but for some reason my mind brought up a blank. FWIW, I shoved and I disliked it. Savings: 75bb had I raised turn, 38bb had I just called river.
400 NL Boat vs Nit
Hand 2: This guy was like 22/20 over 20k hands and his check/raise on this flop made absolutely no sense for value, especially because he was checkraising the donk out of the pot. That said, I have no idea why I called the flop raise as he probably does have the FD here and even then he is the favorite. If I had a King though I’m definitely calling. I should look over his stats some more as this is the first time I’ve played with him. Savings: 10bb

Hand 3: Again more spew. Villain was an unknown as he just sat down but judging by his passiveness he was donkish. I didn’t want to bet the turn because I didn’t want to pot commit myself on the turn with TPGK vs a 1/2 stack, even though the only thing that beats me is AT and I’m ahead of a lot of hands. I river trips and he over shoves and I make the call, even though the flush came in too. My reasoning makes absolutely zero sense and I’m having a hard time wrapping my own head around it. Savings: anywhere from 0-$150 depending on if he calls turn (as I stack off if he does, and he probably does).

The only downside is that today is my 3rd losing day in a row.
