Where has the day gone?

After Kavin left I chatted with Marlyn for a while then headed out to roller blade for the first time in 10 days. The weather outside was awesome! I took my normal route today and only stopped for 1 break and I didn’t feel all that tired. It was weird though my feet felt pretty heavy today as I was moving along, something I’m not used to on roller blades.

I was gone for a good 45 minutes today and felt good, although I took a small detour. I went straight up Green Street instead of going back down to stadium only to come back. I wasn’t really in the mood to take that trip back again and I really wanted to get back home. I was able to use the water bottle I bought at the Lincoln Park Zoo a while back as a way to bring water with me; it fit into my pocket!

I don’t know where the day has gone though. Between searching forums and making videos I barely have time to get my own play in, let alone spend some time exercising. I don’t know how I get so busy when it feels like I don’t do anything. I didn’t even cook today where am I going to find the time?

I’ll probably relax a little bit and eat something before going to bed. I’m starting to get tired though I should go to bed and plan to play tomorrow. I’m moving the weekend of July 25th, even though we haven’t found a place yet.

Dual session 400 NL on Stars/Tilt

When Kavin came over he was ready to play, and that isn’t a bad thing. Him being motivated to start off the day only motivates me to get going too. I have my cool table selecting software based off my database and I’m able to find good tables without having to play with a bunch of regulars. I still hadn’t eaten yet so as he fired up the tables I throw some hot dogs on the George Foreman Grill and went on my way. I was actually on a caffeine buzz the entire time as I hadn’t drank a lot of caffeinated beverages the last 10 days.

We started off exclusively on Stars and we were able to find up to 7-8 tables to play on a historical good poker-day. Since we’re both here I lightened my requirements some; I went from having 2 donks at the table to 1 and a half, which means 1 really bad player and another one with a lot of leaks (there’s a difference!). We probably got in about 600 hands during this time period at Stars alone.

The tables seemed to dry up a little bit at Stars so we took a small break to regroup and get our FTP software up and running. He wasn’t used to playing at both Stars and Tilt at the same time and looking at different backgrounds can make you unfocused rather quicky. Amusingly the Grinderschool tournament popped up in the middle of all of this so it was real fun. I played maybe 2-3 hands and I ran AK into KK after 30 minutes in.

My caffeine buzz came halting to a crash and I got extremely hungry about 3 hours in, which is normal after I drink a ton of caffeine. We took a dinner break and got some General Tso’s Chicken from the Asian place next to Jimmy John’s; you get so much food for $8 its ridiculous.

Afterwords though we were too full to get another session in, but FTP treated us well and between the two sites we got in 1200 hands and made 2.5 Buy ins. Our streak of consecutive winning sessions continues of at least 5-6 in a row.

My morning

I got up right at 10 am today and it didn’t take me long to get started in my day. I knew I had to record a couple hours of 25 NL FR on Poker Stars for Grinderschool so I did right off the bat. Kavin was going to come over at 12:30 so I was hoping to have time to eat + shower + get my videos done.

Well, it didn’t quite work out that way. Kavin came right at 12:30 and it was right as I was finishing my last video, down to the second. I still have to transfer those two files to my desktop to get it converted and then shower before we could start dual tabling the 2/4 game.

It was at this time that I forgot AGAIN about using the Grinderschool background on my Stars tables to record, and I knew Jeffrey wasn’t going to be happy about it. I mean, I’d be willing to redo the 2 hours eventually but I just can’t spend 4 hours of my Sunday recording and playing 4 tables of 25 NL. I was ready to play 400 NL with Kavin and he was here so I had to do that too.
