The website . . . not the magazine.

During their “Deep Stacked Extravaganza,” The Venetian reported all cashes to CardPlayer.com so I get my name up on the website, and it goes as my first official ‘Live Cash.’

You can find it here.

Weird Dinner

So while I was rollerblading I was debating on what I should cook for dinner. My freezer is filled with chicken breasts and I have a decent amount of canned/packaged foods so I figured I’d make something up.

My original plan was to do some sort of ‘Shake and Bake’ although I didn’t have any 1) Shake and Bake Mix or 2) Bread Crumbs so that idea was nixed. I was going to make some stuffing with my chicken, so I scoured my Chicken Stuffing box and, to my surprise, there was a decent recipe on the back.

The recipe itself was just titled “Easy Oven Bake” and it was pretty quick to assemble. As I defrosted the chicken in the microwave, I place half the dry stuffing in the bottom of a casserole dish and put the other 1/2 in a cup of hot water. When the chicken thawed, I cut it into 1 inch pieces and placed that over the dry stuffing. The next step required the use of a can of condensed chicken noodle soup; unfortunately I didn’t have any (who drinks that anymore anyway?) but I did have a can of Healthy Choice Chicken and Dumplings which would work just fine. I was to mix that with frozen vegetables and I just happened to have a quarter of a bag of frozen cauliflower and broccoli. That mixture goes over the top of the chicken (you were supposed to mix in sour cream but I don’t usually carry that on hand), followed by the remaining stuffing on top.

It was supposed to bake in for 30 minutes in a 400 degree oven, or until the chicken was cooked thoroughly. Luckily I had my meat thermometer because it took nearly an hour to cook the chicken until it was done. The stuffing must have acted as a insulator and prevented the dish from cooking as quickly.

It really only took like 5 minutes to prepare and it tasted kind of good. I’d probably make it again if I ran out of ideas, or to just try something new. I think it was rather healthy too, because the only fat in the dish was that in the chicken itself and the stuffing had the carbs. I don’t know how many calories it worked out to be but it was probably a lot, but it was also a lot of food.

Almost an hour

I almost made my hour today in roller blading, although I had to give it a lot of effort. I started out west from State Street and made it almost to Prospect, until I realized blading on Prospect is not that great of an idea. I headed South to hit my normal street and then I went around campus like I normally do.

This time though I went past Mickinley on Lincoln and went by Illinois Street, up through the Union and then back home again, although I went a couple of blocks out of my way to add some time. In all I’m up to about 55 minutes total and I’m really running out of places to add!

I stopped inside two buildings that I knew of for water fountains, they were within 20 feet of the door each time and no one said anything, not that I was expecting them to. It felt weird though going inside with the roller blades but I’m glad I did get the water and took the risk of someone saying something.

Do you think I’ll ever be able to increase my time out to 2 hours? Probably not in my month left that I have out here; maybe we’ll move to a nice place to roller blade at out in DC.

Screw the IRS

Seriously, I know beforehand that calling the IRS is going to be a bitch; I mean, why wouldn’t it? Of all the government agencies, have you ever had a good experience dealing with any of them? DMV, IRS, Governor or any other politician: trying to deal with any of them is a lesson in futility.

Now, I wish I could write a huge rant about the IRS right now, but unfortunately I can’t even talk to them on the phone. They keep hanging up on me! They put you on hold saying you’re on some ‘call wait list.’ That’s fine with me, I’ve got all fucking day to sit here and wait for someone to answer; my question can be answered in 5 minutes. After holding for 5 minutes listening to their blaring loud music the automated message comes on saying there is a ‘technical error’ and then says to call back later. WTF! I was in line and then they intentionally kick me to the back of the line because of their overloaded call volume.

All I need to know is if the difference in my Tax Rebate Check was attributed to the penalty I owe for not paying my taxes on time last year. The difference is only like 56 cents and frankly I believe it is; however I don’t want to give the IRS any more credit than they deserve so that is why I’m calling to double check. I haven’t receive my notice in the mail about my Rebate Check and my penalty is due July 14th so its not really a matter of waiting anymore.

Saved money on car insurance by switching to…

It feels like I’m doing something special when I get up earlier than the previous day, today was over an hour earlier than the day before.

I went to bed SO late last night. I was in bed at 3 am like I have been doing lately and I turned off the TV at 3:30 hoping to fall asleep soon after. I laid there for over an hour as I remember getting up at 4:30 again to use the bathroom so I know for a fact I didn’t fall asleep until after 4:30 am.

I’m not disappointed I got up so early though, as I had a lot of BS to take care of today. I just got off the phone with the people at ComparisonMarket.com in order to finalize my new auto insurance. At Farmers I was paying $1080 every SIX MONTHS whereas now that I switched to Progressive its $500 less for the same 6 months. I also decreased my coverage from 100/300/100 liability to 25/50/25 liability because I don’t have that much net worth to justify the high coverage. I read something online that having that much liability is wasting money for people with low net worths and I couldn’t disagree.

So I am now a Progressive insurance owner for at least the first month and we’ll see how it will go up when I move to the DC area, as I’m sure it will. I still have to call the IRS to confirm my rebate check amount and I hear they’re swamped with calls so that should be fun. Then, after I call some more apartments for Marlyn I’ll be able to play poker. Fun Day!

July Goals

I really want to play 30,000 hands at 400 NL this month, and hopefully 0 hands at 200NL or 100NL. I’m hoping to only win 10 buy ins minimum during that time period to pay for expenses as I adjust to beat the game. That is only like a winrate of something sick small like 1 pt bb/100.

If I drop 5 buy ins though net in that time period (so where I am now) I’ll just go ahead and then drop down to 200 NL until after I make up what I made back. I hope to continue this trend until I do eventually beat the 200 NL game.

I’ll be happy at 20,000 hands though during this time period and hopefully I crush the 1 pt bb/100 win rate and have an awesome month. I wont have to withdraw any money for a good 3-4 weeks so my online balances should remain steady.

I’ll also be moving, or getting ready to move, by the end of this month. So also in this time period I’ll be doing some traveling to home to spend some final time with friends and family before I move.

Guitar Hero 1 + Rock The 80’s

Today was the first day I’ve played Guitar Hero in months, in fact it has to be before I went on my trip to DC way back in February. The first few months was because I let Kiyoshi borrow it in exchange for Rock Band (which I have played several times since then) but the past month the guitar has been laying on the floor in my living room.

I was pretty excited to played Guitar Hero 1 and Rock The 80’s, as this is the first time I’ve played anything different than the Guitar Hero 2 and Rock Band soundtracks. Needless to say, I liked the GH1 song list much more than GH2, and probably equally as much as Rock Band.

A listing of songs from GH1 can be found here.

My favorite songs to rock out to were:

1) Fat Lip by Sum 41
2) Killer Queen by Queen
3) More Than a Feeling by Boston
4) Sharp Dressed Man by ZZ Top

A listing of songs from GH80s can be found here.

My favorite songs to rock out to were:

1) We Got the Beat by The Go Gos
2) Nothin’ but a Good Time by Poison

Tons of Fun! Like I need another distraction…
